Island Packet 32

With its classic good looks and exacting craftsmanship, the Island Packet 32 is specifically well-known for its reliability, sturdy construction, open and airy space below deck, and above all, as one of the largest 35-foot cruising sailboats on the market today. The IP32 has always maintained one of the best resale values on the brokerage market. No matter if you’ve never owned a sailboat before or are a seasoned cruiser, this vessel offers all the comforts you could desire in a long-distance cruising boat packed neatly into a solid, great sailing, shorthanded yacht.

The IP 32 is the perfect family cruiser with incredible 6’2″ headroom and accommodation for up to 7 people with the forward cabin, convertible main salon settees and a roomy quarter-berth. She has ample stainless-steel portholes and decks hatches ensuring excellent air circulation at anchor. A varnished teak and holly sole adds elegance to the living areas. The main salon can be an open salon area or, with the bulkhead-mounted table folded down, an accommodating dining area.

Topside, the 32 continues the Island Packet tradition with a large, unobstructed deck and cabin top surfaces. Full-length cabin top handrails help ensure both safety and security while underway. The platform extends the sail plan forward, adding extra sail area for closer sheeting angles when sailing to windward. The manageable and versatile cutter rig allows a small crew to set a variety of well-balanced combinations in a wide range of wind and sea conditions. The genoa and staysail are fitted with roller furling systems. Control lines are lead aft to allow routine sail-handling from the comfort and security of the recessed cockpit.

As her owner’s plans have changed, “Zephyr” enters the market replete with great equipment and features, such as: refreshed dodger and bimini canvas (2024), full set of cruising sails by North Sails (new in 2019) plus asym. spinnaker, integrated Garmin electronics package including AIS, autopilot, ample ground tackle, and solar panels for off-grid energy.

Zephyr is located in beautiful San Carlos, Sonora, just a 4-hour drive from Nogales, AZ on a safe and well-maintained four-lane highway. Or you may choose to fly into the international airport of Hermosillo from anywhere in the world to see this gorgeous sailboat. Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to own a truly exceptional boat, ready to create lasting memories on the water!

Accommodations

Starting in the forward stateroom, there is a comfortable V-berth for two with storage below the berth and access to the anchor locker. A large hanging locker is found to starboard. The cabin contains outboard shelving, accent lighting, two portlights, deck hatch, electrical outlets – AC and cigarette lighter type (12V) – and smoke/CO detector. Fans and an air conditioning vent also provide plenty of fresh air circulation.

Moving aft and to port is the head, which is accessible from both the V-berth and the main salon. The shower and stainless-steel sink utilize a freshwater system with an air conditioning vent, port window and hatch. The showerhead is wall-mounted on a solid stainless-steel bar. The head includes a Raritan manual commode with integrated shower seat, ample counter space, shower curtain, mirror, sliding cabinetry, towel rack, teak handrail, and electrical outlets (AC and 12V type).

The main salon is large and comfortable with two settees: a single bench-style settee to starboard and an L-shaped settee that converts into a double-berth port side. There is a bulkhead mounted table which folds out to seat 6. There is also a fold-down table mounted behind the galley sink that provides an additional eating and working surface. Beneath and behind the settees you’ll find abundant storage, recessed bookshelves, as well as a storage locker beside the starboard settee. Two ceiling-mounted wooden handrails run the length of the salon for stability and security of movement while underway. Ample portlights, hatch, and ventilation is provided.

The galley is to starboard of the companionway entrance, with a 2-burner propane stove top with steel safety bar, microwave, deep double stainless-steel sink, and top loading fridge/freezer allow for easy meal preparation when on shore power. The navigation station is to port with a huge quarterberth behind. Storage abounds below the berth, as well as in the nav station.
