Caliber yachts stand apart from the fleet for their swiftness, seaworthiness, durability and exceptional stability and comfort. As Caliber owners know, it is the artful combination of these qualities that enables a Caliber to perform beyond the limits that constrain so many others. This 1996 Caliber 40 LRC “Calypso” meets all those expectations. Set up for long distance sailing and live-aboard comfort, she is a true bluewater cruising sailing vessel.
Designer Michael McCreary put a lot of thought into the needs of his customers when the design was first conceived. Features like the watertight forward collision bulkhead, the triple support rudder post system, and water tight rudder dam add security when hundreds of miles offshore.
The 40 LRC is set for long distance with an unbelievable 210-gal diesel capacity and 160-gal water capacity, both contained in integral hull tanks below the cabin sole. The boat also features a forward owner stateroom with ample storage, head, and separate shower located in the bow with a second day head/shower located to starboard at the bottom of the very easy to navigate companionway stairs.
If you’re in the market for a really spacious cruising boat for a couple, you can’t do much better than this fantastic Caliber 40 LRC. “Calypso” is ready to go cruising anywhere in the world for blue water adventures!
