Vagabond 47

If you’re a true adventurer, a lover of maritime tales, and a dreamer of vast horizons, then the Vagabond 47 is the sailboat for you. Designed by the renowned naval architect William Garden, this ketch-rigged offshore cruiser captures the essence of a true salty sailing yacht. The Vagabond 47 can be found in ports all over the globe and for good reason. Very seaworthy, comfortable and easily managed with the ketch rig, she is capable of ocean crossings. Her timeless appeal and affordability make it a favourite among experienced cruisers on a budget.

Crafted with solid fiberglass and a full keel, the Vagabond 47 exudes strength and durability. Its deck features a small center cockpit, raised aft quarter deck, and wide side decks for comfortable offshore cruising. With ample seating and storage lockers, you’ll find the perfect balance between comfort and functionality.

Step below deck and discover a world of possibilities. The layout varies from boat to boat, but our 1982 model boasts a spacious V-berth forward, an enclosed head, and a hanging locker. The main salon welcomes you with inviting settees and a dining area. The walk-through galley is equipped with modern appliances, while the aft cabin offers a king-sized berth and a private head and shower. Throughout the interior, teak accents create an atmosphere of warmth and elegance.

Powering this vessel is a reliable 80hp Ford Lehman marinized diesel engine with minimal hours. While the Vagabond 47 may not be built for high-speed sailing, its comfort and stability are unparalleled. Its displacement/length and sail area/displacement ratios ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey even in lighter winds. With this sailboat, you’ll experience the true joy of leisurely cruising and coastal exploration.

This beautiful example of a classic blue water cruiser is expertly maintained by her owners and ready to continue to far away places. Check out her recent pictures and equipment list, which include a new motor and fuel tank, then contact us to schedule a viewing, you will not be disappointed!
